Responsibilities:

  • Processing end to end (hire to termination) full cycle, semi-monthly Canadian payroll
  • Handling payroll cheque printing
  • Preparing T4s, ROEs, garnishments, and other government required remittances
  • Responding to inquiries from employees, HRSDC, and Service Canada
  • Preparing monthly commission report and various bonus payouts
  • Performing AP, GL, Bank Reconciliation duties
  • Handling on-line banking duties, such as wire/bill payments, funds transfers
  • Providing backup to Payroll and AP teams
  • Assisting with year-end and internal audits
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Quick learner and strong work ethic; able to quickly learn various tasks
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized, demonstrated track record for accuracy and thoroughness, and have strong problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work at a fast paced, high pressure, dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, overtime as needed
  • Ability to multi-task and have strong time management skills
  • Effective communication skills verbal, written and listening
  • Finance-related diploma from a post-secondary institute desirable
  • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation
  • Experience processing in house payroll
  • Knowledge of EasyPay, Sage ACCPAC, and Advanced Tracker a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
