- What is AYCE?
AYCE is a non-profit unemployment centre in Toronto with offices near the intersection of Victoria Park and Sheppard Avenue. AYCE provides employment counselling, job development, recruitment, training and a job search resource centre.
- Where is AYCE located?
AYCE is located near the boundary of North York and Scarborough at 505 Consumers Road, Suite 102. Our office is west of the intersection of Victoria Park and Consumers road and south of Victoria Park and Sheppard Avenue. If you are travelling by TTC, take the 24 or 24A bus from Victoria Park or Don Mills subway station. If you are driving, parking is available off of Halcrown Place. Simply bring in the parking slip for validation.
- Does AYCE only serve youth?
No. AYCE does help find youth work opportunities, but anyone looking for assistance with their job search and employment-related goals are able to access the services offered here.
- What is AYCE's relationship to Tropicana Community Services?
AYCE is the employment division of Tropicana Community Services.
- Is it possible to volunteer or do a student placement at AYCE?
Yes. AYCE regularly participates in volunteer and student placement programs. If you are interested in completing a student placement with AYCE, contact the Manager, Placement Services via email at jobs@ayce.on.ca. If you are interested in volunteering with AYCE, contact the Resource and Information Facilitator via email at resourcecentre@ayce.on.ca.
- How can I start using the services at AYCE?
Simply drop by the office and a counsellor will be able to help you find the program and access the services that will best address your needs.
- I'm looking for a job. How can AYCE help?
AYCE can help you look for a job by providing employment counselling and job development support to assist with resumes, cover letters, interview skills and career planning. We can also connect job seekers to employers. We also offer training opportunities to further enhance your marketable skills.
- I'm an employer looking to hire. How can AYCE help?
AYCE can provide employers with a pool of suitable applicants for a particular position or can be more involved by screening and selecting candidates. If you are an employer interested, contact AYCE and ask to speak with a job developer.
- Why does AYCE need identification to sign me up for a program?
There are two main reasons that we require identification from program participants. We need to provide our funders with documentation in order to ensure that participants are eligible for the programs. We also need to be certain that clients are eligible to work in Canada when referring clients to employers.
- How is AYCE funded?
AYCE delivers a variety of programs with different government funders including the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities, Ministry of Citizenship & Immigration Canada and the Ontario Disability Support Program.
- What are AYCE's business hours?
The hours of operation at AYCE are:- Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
- Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 6:30pm.
- Fridays from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
- Closed Saturdays and Sundays.
- Does AYCE charge for its services?
Since AYCE is a non-profit organization, most services are offered free of charge. The only exceptions are some of the certification workshops.
